“Ymir”is a monster of a computer. It has a 19″ rack-mount case with a height of 12U. Once, in its glory days, it was high-availability-server, today it is turned off most of the time. Only on special occasions, I will wake up the monster, and chain the electric-meter to the ground.
Today’s Scope of Application:
When ymir is up and running, it usually performs cpu-intensive, time-consuming tasks like compiling NetBSD or pkgsrc or things like that.
Operating System: NetBSD 4.0/i386, with pkgsrc-current for package-management.
There are not really many apps installed on ymir, because its today’s main-task is compiling stuff.
