Finally it works! The problem lay in the compaq’s dual-processor-capability. Because of it, it required NetBSD’s GENERIC_MP-Kernel, even when only one CPU is installed. Well, as with everything that starts complicated, it remains just that. NetBSD installed quite fine, but upon booting the system, the kernel simply froze dead in place.
